Marble, John of Bradford, MA

John Marble was born in 1764 and learned the stonecutting trade from his father Joseph who lived in Quincy, MA. John worked in the Merrimack Valley from about 1780-1798. He began his trade in Portsmouth, NH in 1801. In 1807 he sold his business and moved back to Bradford, MA. He died in 1844 and is buried in Bradford, MA.

There are several examples of Marble’s stonework in Currierville Cemetery.
